GEORGE TOWN,30 JULY: The recent flooding this morning did not cause any problems to tourist attractions in Penang.

The flash flood situation in Penang has subsided after it hit Penang in the early hours of 30 July 2018. Based on reports received from various government agencies, there were no tourist attractions which were affected by the flash flood.

The areas affected by the flood are Jalan P.Ramlee, Lintang P.Ramlee, Jaln Tan Iu Ghee, Jalan Ismail Che Mat,Lorong Kulit, Kampung Masjid, Jalan Trengganu, Jalan Gemas, Jalan Langkawi, Taman Abidin, area in front of the Masjid Rawana, Persiaran Perak, Astaka Stadium, Laman Pejabat Pos Dato’ Keramat, Sungai Relau which in front of SK Sri Relau, Sungai Air Putih Masjid Jalan Zoo, Sungai Dondang Lebuh Raya Thein Teik.

To my knowledge, there was no tourist attraction which was affected and currently all the attractions are working normally. Furthermore, flights to and from Penang International Airport are also operating normally and there is no any major hotel cancellation that we have received.

We hope that everyone travelling to Penang state to be cautious especially those who are planning to visit the seaside. Besides, tourist should be alert towards the weather changes before proceeding to any kind of outdoor activities.
