Residents of Taman Han Chiang in Jalan Sungkai, Penang, were beaming with joy when they received the cheque for repainting their apartments.
The 40-year-old project consists of six apartment blocks and over 200 units.
The blocks will be repainted in three phases under the state’s Maximum 80% Housing Maintenance Fund (TPM80PP) programme.
State Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said the total repainting works cost RM220,000 and the state would bear 20% of the total cost which was RM44,000.
