Media statement by the Penang State Government to media article quoting Penang ADUN Penanti YB Norlela Ariffin, entitled “PKR politician asking why Penang LRT costs more than MRT”
- The Penang State Government would like to clarify that the cost of the Bayan Lepas LRT is not RM24bil, as alleged by YB Norlela Ariffin in the article: http://mole.my/pkr-politician-
asking-why-penang-lrt-costs- more-than-mrt/ - As stated in my earlier clarification on the Penang Transport Master Plan cost, dated 19th June 2017, the actual project cost for the projects will only be finalised after detailed engineering design and open tenders are completed. These will only be carried out after the required approvals are obtained from the Federal Government.
- As stated in the Request For Proposal (RFP) document submitted by SRS Consortium to the Penang State Government, the cost of the Bayan Lepas LRT from Komtar to Penang South Reclamation’s Island B is estimated to be RM8.4bil (Volume 1, page 4-15).

Sebelum ini, kerajaan negeri ada menjelaskan bahawa kos sebenarnya hanya boleh ditentukan selepas rekabentuk kejuruteraan terperinci dan tender terbuka selesai. Perkara-perkara ini memerlukan kelulusan kerajaan persekutuan terlebih dahulu.
Biarpun begitu, dokumen RFP SRS Consortium menganggarkan kosnya sebagai RM8.4 bilion sahaja!

该建设费用并不是如诺蕾拉所指的高达240亿令吉。
我们也在较早前澄清该建设项目的最终费用将在详尽工程设计及公开招标后才能敲定。这些都需要联邦政府的批准。
就连SRS联盟的招标书也只预测该项目将耗资84亿令吉而已。
