Lessons learnt from a year in office at Malaysian government after 509

Steven Sim (Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports) wrote about 3 lessons learnt in the past one year:

1) PH must win the hearts and minds of the people, not just their stomachs.

2) Progressives must not surrender discussions on race, religion and patriotism to extremists and communalists alone; we must reclaim these discussions.

3) The civil service is an important factor in delivering manifesto. PH must galvanise the civil service to serve the people.

Tiga iktibar yang Steven Sim (Timbalan Menteri Belia & Sukan) perolehi dalam tempoh satu tahun ini:

1) PH mesti memenangkan hati dan minda rakyat, bukan sahaja menenuhi keperluan mereka.

2) Golongan progresif tidak patut membiarkan perbincangan tentang soal etnik, agama dan patriotisme didominasikan oleh golongan ekstremis dan komunalis; kita mesti mengambil alih perbincangan ini.

3) Penjawat awam adalah faktor penting dalam merealisasikan manifesto. PH mesti menggembleng tenaga penjawat awam untuk berkhidmat kepada rakyat.
