2012 New Year Message By Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng In Komtar, George Town On 31 December 2011.
Let Us Embrace A Future Of A Cleaner, Greener & Safer Penang That Rewards Those Who Works Hard, Works Honestly And Works Smart.
For nearly 225 years since Penang first appeared on the world map, the fortunes of Penang has risen and fallen. Penang has prospered when we realise that for a state without any natural resources, we need to rely our human resources and develop human talent. Penang has declined when we forget that it is the energy, expertise and entrepreneurship of our people that makes Penang so unique.

Rating: 0.0/10 (0 votes cast)

Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak has said that he will defend Putrajaya at all costs, even if it requires “crushed bodies and lost lives”. Now, with Najib’s launch of BN’s new “cyber army”, are we seeing the manifestation of doing whatever it takes to maintain power?

In launching the 1Malaysia Social Media Volunteers, or myVO1CE, Najib has effectively given pro-BN cyber troopers “official recognition”, going so far as to call them a new army for the party in the virtual world. In his speech, Najib signalled a rallying call saying, “Bring out your iPads, iPhones, Blackberries and laptops. These are our weapons as the cyber warriors.”

Rating: 0.0/10 (0 votes cast)

Will the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak apologise over the flip-flop whether he is going to abolish bumi quotas or ask the press to correct their false reporting? The Prime Minister was reported by Malaysiakini on 27 September and in Bernama on 28 September 2011 that that there was a need to "run or go away" from quotas for Bumiputeras.

However on 30.9.2011 Friday, Najib insisted that he absolutely did not say that bumi quotas will be abolished. Since Bernama had reported on the need to “run or go away” from bumi quotas, will action then be taken against Bernama or any other BN-controlled paper for false reporting? As it is hard to imagine a government news department like Bernama daring to misquote or misrepresent what the Prime Minister said, will the Prime Minister be compelled to apologise for saying the wrong thing?

Rating: 0.0/10 (0 votes cast)

The Election Commission Chairman Abdul Aziz Yusof’s response to the Mismah-gate shocker is inadequate and unacceptable because it is based purely on speculation without facts. Abdul Aziz’s official explanation that the NRD fails to inform the public including millions of Malaysian voters how such a scandalous blunder could have happened.

Instead of imagining petty excuses for the National Registration Department, the EC is duty-bound to ensure the veracity of the nation’s electoral rolls. This incident has demonstrated the chronic lack of coordination between government departments, which severely impacts public confidence in the sanctity of our elections.

Rating: 0.0/10 (0 votes cast)
